TIME TO BLOSSOM’S 2011 YOUNG WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

Registrations are now open for Time to Blossom’s Young Women’s Conference for girls age 11-16. Girls can register for either the June 20-24th or June 27-July 1st session. This year’s conferences will feature a host of presenters, including John Bytheway, American Idol’s Brooke White, singer Alex Boye, Olympian Lacey Nymeyer, EFY speaker Brad Wilcox, and others. Workshops during the week will cover everything from self-esteem to poise, and from service to testimony building. Activities will include a JesterZ improv comedy night, a fashion show, and more! RESONATE DANCE LESSONS Resonate Dance is enrolling NOW for SUMMER and FALL 2011-2012!! Resonate Dance is a family based studio that promises to always keep costumes modest and movement appropriate so you never have to worry when your child is in our care! We also try hard to keep prices affordable to YOU. (Starting as low as $25/month depending on the class). We teach all ages 2-adult. We offer combo/creative, ballet, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, Latin, and swing. ALL who mention hearing about us via Michele Baer will receive 1/2 off of the first session of summer camp! SUMMER MUSIC WORKSHOP- Its time to register for a super time this summer as the Ambassadors of LIGHT and StarLight Group presents: AOL Entertainers Workshop.
This is a great activity for all young people, family members, friends or neighbors.

grouping them by age gives the entertainers a better chance to make good friends.
This years workshops will feature some very
strong choreography and stage presence. Vocals will also be stressed. Each rehearsal will be well planned and challenging. At weeks end, a short performance will be held, in the evening, featuring what was learned during the week. Entertainers will receive t-shirts as well as plenty of fun. LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY AUDITIONS Auditions for Fall 2011 are fast approaching. If you love performing; if you enjoy bringing happiness to people; if you want to do some travel and work with an ensemble of high caliber young people, then LIGHT Entertainment Company is something for you to consider. In 2011 LIGHT Entertainment Company will sponsor RiSE, LIGHT, Ambassadors of LIGHT and Sounds. The cost this year will be reduced considerably:

RiSE is 24 young women 14-17 years old.

LIGHT is 16-20 young men and women 15-18 years old

Ambassadors of LIGHT are 10-12 strong, 17-19 years old.

“Sounds” is a brand new group this year made up of 3-5 guys and 3-6 girls that are18-22 yrs old advanced vocalists (college or high school seniors)that perform 100% A Cappella. Auditions for all groups include performing a Broadway musical number, learning a few dance combinations and an interview. DANCE TEACHER NEEDED - Resonate Dance is looking to hire another dance teacher. Some or all of the following experience is needed: Ballet, Jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and/or ballroom. Must be willing to commit long term, must work well with children and people (experience teaching children preferred), must have high standards and morals and support our stance on modest costuming and clean/appropriate dance movements, must love to dance and love to choreograph, must be patient yet enthusiastic. This is a very part-time position (1-3 hrs a week) starting in Fall. We are willing to train, however we only pay for time spent actually teaching in the classroom. - Howard Lyon is an artist that lives in Mesa. For much of his career he has painted dragons and trolls or scenes from science fiction. His work can be found in products from Dungeons and Dragon’s books, World of Warcraft cards, Magic the Gathering and Star Wars. He studied Illustration at Brigham Young University and has studied art in Italy, France and most recently at the Grand Central Academy in New York.Recently, he has taken on a commission to paint a scene from the New Testament of Christ calming the tempest. The painting is in oils on linen at 50 x 80 inches titled “From Fear to Faith”. More of Howard’s work can be found at his website, www.howardlyon.com. Prints of his painting are for sale. Nashville Tribute Band, featuring pianist Dan Truman who also plays for the famous country group Diamond Rio and award-winning songwriter Jason Deere, will bring their unique style of religious music to the Mesa Amphitheater November 8. East Valley Mormon Choral Org Christmas Spectacular Celebrate the holiday season by experiencing EAST VALLEY MORMON CHORAL ORGANIZATION’S annual Christmas Spectacular, “All the Bells on Earth Shall Ring," on Saturday, December 4th at the Mesa Arts Center. EVMCO is part of the world’s largest choral/orchestral organization, Mormon Choral Organizations of America, and welcomes musicians of all faiths. It consists of a refined 200-voice adult choir, 4 professional youth choruses, and a stunning symphony orchestra.

Position for Show Choir Director Kirk's Studio for the Performing Arts is the Valley's largest studio for music instruction with three locations: Scottsdale, Mesa and Desert Ridge. We have an immediate opening for a Show Choir Director at the Mesa Studio. This individual would direct and coach the vocal training as well as do most of the choreography and dance instruction. Guest instructors or choreographers could be brought in from time to time. The director would be in charge of two groups: the first for ages 11-14 and the second for ages 14-18. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 for the younger group and 7-8:30 for the older kids. The older group will be a competitive Show Choir. There is ample parental support and parents are willing to volunteer to help wherever needed. Rehearsals are held at Kirk's Studio for the Performing Arts at 7440 E. Main St. in Mesa (formerly La Musique). The Show Choirs perform at a variety of venues and have a small tour every year as well. Compensation is very competitive and depends on experience.
